Killer Cars

Site Announcements was yesterday at the training center. Because of the days long blackout, they drew a huge map of the islands on the floor of the training center. We were all called down one by one and our APCDs announced our locations with excitement. After the big announcement we stood on our islands with our remaining neighbors.

Where am I?

I will be staying on Santiago Island, and moving to the country town of Calheta on the upper east coast. My job will be working for the Centro de Juventud (Youth Center) of the town. Looks like I will be giving lots of computer classes but will probably tackle any issues that arrive. Yay for working with kids.

Half of us will move out of Santiago and the my half will stay here. I can take advantage of the resources available and of course the US Embassy rec center. All you other volunteers don’t forget your dozen or so friends here on Santiago. After all, our rock is bigger than yours. Damn right, bigger than yours.
