I officially got invited!
April 1st, 2005 by Sarin

On March 31st, 2005, I was officially invited over the phone to serve in the US Peace Corps departing in July 2005.
Those who have been with me since October, know that this has not been as easy process but finally there is success.
October->potential applicant
December->completed application
January->Nominee
March->Offical invitation
To finish this long process in 6 months is almost unheard of. While 6 months is a long time, it really to me felt longer. Not every applicant hears back in such a short time, and each wait multiplies the intensity and doubtfullness in each step. Patience is key, and I approached each step with the ambition of a thousand running rhinos.
Full country details should arrive in the mail next week. Thanks to everybody’s support! I knew I had it all along. For those looking to learn more, SoYouWanna.com has a nice article that might explain it better than I can in these pages.
To prospective volunteers, don’t lose hope. Remember, alot of the application process is self selection. If you want it bad enough, you will get it. Just don’t quit in yourself. It won’t come easy, but remember nothing in the Peace Corps will be. But it will be worth it.
