Song Outlines

As much as you try to escape poop (I mean pop) music, there are certain songs which you cannot stay away from. The song this season is Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” (sic), especially when Ted Leo of indie fame covered it. Even better, when someone ‘dedicated, took the time’ to put together a presentation outlining the song [Original Link, via Waxy]. [Other song outlines]

Uber that. As much as princess Kelly Clarkson is absolutely deserving of the girl next door hottie award with good vocal skills to match, she ain’t got nothing in the songwriting category. I’m not sure what I enjoy more, watching her bounce in her video, or knowing she’s got great vocal chords.

So I give to you, a song outline for Green Day’s “Jesus of Suburbia”

*The Jesus of Suburbia*

    son of rage and love
of the bible of “none of the above”
    On a steady diet of
    • soda pop
    • ritalin

Who died for my sins in hell?

    • no one
    • as far as I can tell
    • at least the ones I got away with

In a land of make believe

    • that don’t believe in me
    • there’s nothing wrong with me
    • this is how I’m supposed to be

    Get my television fix

    • sitting on a crucifix
    • the living room
    • in my private womb
    • while the Mom’s and Brad’s are away,

    to

    • fall in love
    • fall in debt,
    • alcohol
    • cigarettes
    • Mary Jane,
    • keep me insane
    • doing someone else’s cocaine

*City Of The Damned*

At the center of the earth
    • in the parking lot of the 7-11
    • the motto was just a lie

“Home is where your heart is”

    • what a shame
    • “cuz everybody’s hard doesn’t beat the same”
    • WE’RE BEATING OUT OF TIME

City of the dead, City of the damned

    • at the end of another lost highway, leading to nowhere
    • lost children with dirty faces today
    • NO ONE REALLY SEEMS TO CARE!

    The graffiti

    • in the bathroom stall
    • like holy scriptures in a shopping mall
    • didn’t say much
    • “the center of the earth is the end of the world”

“AND I COULD REALLY CARE LESS”

*I Don’t Care*

    I don’t care
    • if you don’t
    • if you don’t care
    • repeat after me

    Everyone

    • is so full of shit!
    • born & raised by hyporcrites

    The Jesus of suburbia

    • the kids of war and peace
    • Anaheim to the middle east
    • WE ARE THE STORIES AND DISCIPLES OF

    Land of make believe

    • and it don’t believe in me
    • and I don’t belive
    • AND I DON’T CARE!

*Dearly Beloved*

    Dearly beloved
    • are you listening?
    • I can’t remember a word that you were saying

    Are we or am I?

    • demented
    • disturbed

    The space that’s in between

    • insane
    • insecure

    Oh therapy

    • please fill the void?

    Am I

    • retarded
    • or just overjoyed?

    Nobody

    • is perfect

    I

    • stand accused,

For the lack of a better word

    • that’s my best excuse

*Tales Of Another Broken Home*

To live and not to breathe
    • Is to die in tragedy
    • To run, to run away
    • To find what you believe

    And I leave behind,

    • this hurricane of fucking lies
    • my faith to this
    • this town

    So I run away to

    • the light of masochists,

    And I leave behind

    • this hurricane of fucking lies

    I walked this line

    • 1,000,000 fucking times
    • but not this time

    I don’t feel

    • any shame,
    • Will I apologize?
    • nope
    • “when there ain’t nowhere you can go”

    When you’ve been victimized

    • running away from pain
    • tales from another broken home

And by the way, I hand coded this list. This is for all of you who think that having a blog doesn’t require you to code. And yes, having a blog is a resume bullet point. Stop using a program and learn the language for yourself you stupid idiot.
