The # of pictures online have surpassed the 3,000 mark,
and the only direction is up.
So what does it take to put these pictures online, and why do I always fail in doing so when somebody goes to check them? Here it is.
- A gathering happens and me or someone else takes pictures. Hopefully good ones.
- I transfer them to my computer, name them, and trash all the ones that are bad.
- I import several of the pics that have red eye into Adobe PE and remove red eye as much as I can.
- With the modified pics, I run a script to reset the date to the date the picture was taken.
- I take the red eye reduced copies and generate index html files, thumbnails, and web optimized images for them. This procedure can take longer as more files generate more time to produce index files and thumbnails.
- I double check for consistency and flow.
- I also edit the template on my page to reflect current #, and date last modified.
- When done, I usually walk away from computer from doing such a chore.
Yeah not fun stuff. To me, the looking and taking part is fun. But when time comes to post them, it’s not exactly fun and I hate doing it. All the indexes, thumbnails, etc are static and the procedure to get them up is time consuming almost. If I could find a more dynamic way of posting them online it would be cool, but for now I’ll stick with this until the chore becomes unbearable.

Uhh, this may be a stupid question, but where do you keep your pictures now? Is there a link on here somewhere? I can’t find them anymore. Hehe. I’m not in many of them, especially now (I haven’t hung out with you guys in quite a while), but they’re fun to look at.
uhh..
last time I remember it was on the right where the random photo generator was.
Yes, so Emily is an idiot, and did not scroll right and notice that there was a side bar there. But hey, at least I’ve broadcasted my idiocy for you all to enjoy. A plus side, I guess.
