Hold ‘em

A few issues ago, TIME magazine ran a cover story on Vegas and how much of it has changed in the past 5 years. In summary, I think what they mentioned is that Vegas has become popular in recent years due to blooming non-gambling entertainment in addition to poker games becoming a huge hit on cable TV.

The article gave a small pointer on how to play Texas Hold ‘em, a popular version of poker played on the cable shows. Most people my age never learned this game, or are just starting to learn it. It’s popularity is starting to hit my generation as most of us are not accustomed to Vegas or playing for chips. Texas Hold ‘em struck my attention as to how easy it was to pick up (granted I already know poker hands), but since the rules are slightly different, in my opinion, makes it even harder to get good at.

If anybody at college is down for a night of Texas Hold ‘em, I am definitely down. I have been playing online, but I think real competition could be a ‘new’ thing for us kids to do. Let’s do it up and improve our bluffing skills.
