Happy V Day
August 9th, 2004 by Sarin
Today Rhode Island gets to celebrate Victory Day, an almost useless and should be done away with holiday. We’re one or maybe the only one in the union who still celebrates it, but it’s nice to have an extra holiday in the summer.
Plus being a state employee means I can take this day off and still get paid.
Pretty sweet.

And since CVS headquarters is in RI our delivery day changes AND we get everything a day late, which means we probably won’t get paid on time this week. Damn Victory Day.
I have no love or hate towards Victory Day. I do wonder though as to what “victory” they are talking about. To the best of my knowledge there were no major wars which came to an end in August.
also, i think courtney might be on the way to out-posting me for the week soon. Said as it is to say, I may be de-throned in the near future.
It is Victory over Japan day. WW2 I think.
Which is actually quite bad, because c’mon what if you were Japanese?
Good point. Maybe they should just change it to an end to the war with Japan day.
