Celebrities declare own war - on Bush (USATODAY.com)

USATODAY.com - In what’s shaping up as one of the nastiest presidential races in decades, Bush-bashing is turning into an en vogue celebrity sport.

Personally, I think some people should leave the celebs alone. People bash people all the time, but when it comes to a celeb, you better keep yer mouth shut.

I can’t understand why people take great offense to an opinion. The only time you should feel angry, or even to get angry, is when you have an opportunity to counterpoint, and not just be like ‘Oh, they don’t know what they’re talking about, ahma’ peace on this piece’.

Throwing your cocktail at a musical artist does not make you a better American. If you’re an adult, you should know better than that.

I read that article too and I agree. It is silly and childish to throw things at a performer because you disagree with their viewpoint. While we are all political and stuff I thought you might be interested in this Amnesty International thing I’ve been a part of for a while now. Basically you click on the “act!” banner and you’re presented with a range of human rights violations and issues occuring across the globe. You click on one (or all) of the topics and there is a pre-written letter to the necessary world leaders that can directly impact the situation. All you have to do is attach your name and send it (through e-mail). It’s one of the best things I’ve found that lets you do a little to show you care.
Currently one of the issues being dealt with is the use of rape as a weapon in Sudan. Here is the website in case you are interested in helping out or wanna tell other people about it.

It doesn’t cost anything either. Sorry to get all political on you but i’ve noticed you to be one of the people I know that takes a great interest in what is going on in the world.

Alot of it is because I read on the computer way too often. You can’t get much done in front of a tv, and even today you can’t even get the right sides to news.

I stopped getting thrilled from watching TV news because it would excite me on the smallest issues. Then I realize that it is all hype. The news would be boring without all the dramatic moments.

Reading blogs and news sites on the internet gives a clean and healthy insight into the world that I believe the average american doesn’t get a chance to see. If even half the people who complain, would just read news and not watch it, we would all be educating ourselves better by not passing along garbage.

The only republicans I can stand are the ones who know what they are talking. Because so much news on the internet just humbles you and shuts your mouth. But then again, really, like I would really want to be caught watching Fox News?
