Triple Day Stretch

So this week has been an interesting one. It was my first week of getting back to work, after finally resting it out for 2 weeks. I don’t find the job too tiring, but I do drink about 3 cups of coffee a day. Right now, I don’t know how much my job is paying me. Even my supervisor can’t tell me the exact answer because I’m working under a temp agency. But for whatever the rate is, it’s still good considering the hours I’m racking.
And I still am pretty broke, but slowly getting my way back up but at least having a job helps. Besides my credit card debt, and debt due to my parents, I am up for more debt pretty soon. A Gables parking pass is $350 dollars this year (which isn’t too bad because West Edge is $200) and I need to get another gym membership soon. On top of that, I have to get accustomed to paying a phone bill again. Speaking of debt, I think I am about to kiss goodbye to plastic. Credit cards are the devil for college kids, and when I originally said I was only using it for books each semester, I ended up abusing that really fast. I know that when I do get money I am usually impulsed to spend on something else, rather pay back the debt that I owe. I think from now on, if something is too expensive, it probably is, and I just gotta suck it up. Human beings are naturally impulsive. Today, credit cards are accepted at McDonald’s, we finance cars, electronics, houses, even simple things like clothes. There are credit cards from all the big names, and when you go to the casino, the atm can give you cash advances. When we get money, we sure as hell are going to spend it on something else.
Back to me. I have been on a triple day stretch. Lauren’s birthday was Thursday, and since then it has been lots of RI nightlife. First on Thursday, we had some drinks at a classy Irish pub in downtown Providence that was probably the most smokeless drinking crowd I have seen. Second, on Friday, Lauren picked up our UNH buddy Katie, and Phil (who just moved to Newmarket) drove his ass to my house after getting lost in ghetto Prov. We got our ‘ish together, along with JT to meet up with Katie, Lauren and Talia at the Club Ultra.
And Club Ultra is like whoah. Posh with a capital P. Soaring ceilings, mirrors, neon lights, two dance floors, and the most comfortable seating (extra wide and deep velour couches) I have found in a RI nightclub. After Phil got harassed for having a cracked license, it was a night of lots of drinking, dancing, and the sexy tan line contest.
I thought this was a tan line contest, but I don’t see any lines
That said by the MC after the many girls who competed, didn’t have tan lines at all. It was the most shaking ass and boobage I have seen drunk, and it was definitely lots of naked.
Third, was tonight at the Strand. Just usual dancing, but it was ladies night. Girls everywhere, and flying skirts are everywhere as well. Nothing too too special, but you can’t go out dancing every single weekend night like I have been and call it exciting all the time. The only remedy I believe… soon in time we will all have our flow of cash for drinks. But for now, we are all broke asses.
It seems to me that flashing underwear (underneath those very loose miniskirts) is very common nowadays since mini skirts are very in this season. I sure can’t complain, but if you’re waiting in line to pump gas, and you’re treated to seeing an assful of thong when the girl in front is itching herself, it can be quite disturbing.
One of the songs that plays, virtually every party/ club I have been to since February is Usher’s “Yeah”. I heard the song again tonight, and it still sounds good. The song is a frigging phenomenon. It still finds a way to crawl into your ear, and make you want to dance, months later after you first heard it. The beat of the song, is really simple, perfect tempo, not too difficult to make up on your own. It’s simplicity is probably its selling point, you hear it once, and you already know it. You hear it 300 times, and it only reminds you that yeah, it is party time. The first day I heard the song, I was like wow that will be the new jam. Later that day, it was inescapable when I definitely remember sitting in the car and it was on 3 RADIO STATIONS at the SAME TIME. From then on, I knew it will be repeated at every gathering I will goto in the next half year. “Yeah” was played plenty of times at Spring Break, at plenty of parties in the spring, and will probably still resonate with remixes throughout this summer.
Much thanks to those who made this weekend good. An also special thanks to the girls I wasn’t allowed to look at.
