Paul Boutin from Slate Magazine wrote this awesome article on steps to protect your pc. Now, the most obvious step, automatic Windows Updates, which even I don’t do (simply because it pops up almost every week last year) would have helped debug the sasser worm last month. It seems like to keep your pc secure, you gotta have those idiots who sold it to you unsecure, fix it for you.

From the rest of the article, I tried out Spybot search and Destroy. This is also a very good adware removal program that found 54 problems that my ad-aware didn’t fix. Highly recommended and when compared to Ad-Aware, it is completely free.
